Photography #3 – Empty bars and forgotten loves…

Empty bars and forgotten loves…

This was the first photo I took on my trip in Amsterdam, it was taken at the Hill Street Blues Coffee Shop at ten in the morning, and we’d just ordered a pitcher of beer for the bargain price of 11 Euros. I loved the stark morning light pouring through the window, it seemed to expose the secrets of this completely graffitied coffee shop. It’s presence felt almost alien and unwelcome against the darkness, like someone shining a light into your mind and lighting up those long forgotten loves that you once held so dear.
