A poem #31 – A lovelorn parting

You hold me at arms length.
I struggle against you, using all of my strength;
but find myself only spinning,
all that I am, unravelling.
As does fraying string, I fall apart,
each fibre tearing from my open heart.
Confused and whirling, the truth unfurling.
words unspeakable in my panic, burning.
I came apart the day you said you loved somebody else.
